After my roommate moved out with her kitten, my kitten got lonely. So...I had to get another one.  She's adorable too.

They love each other.

Accident

Posted on 08.08.2007. at 7:59 PM
Got into my first fender bender today.  Yay.  Girl backed into me in a parking lot.  Of course her car had no damage at all.  At least the damage on mine is just cosmetic.  She better pay up.  :)

Edit: She finally paid up two months later after avoiding the insurance companies for weeks and refusing to return phone calls or answer certified letters.  Ummm...did she think it was just going to go away?

Skirts

Posted on 07.29.2007. at 4:23 AM
I think a lot of guys secretly just want to wear skirts.  Why else the ridiculously baggy pants?  I say just go for it and put on the skirts guys.  I'm sure it will be more attractive.

Baby cat

So, I've completely lost my mind and am adopting a new kitten (or baby cat as my roommate prefers to call them).   That's not the crazy part though.  While looking through a pet adoption site, I came across the cutest kitten ever.  It had amohawk.  It currently lives in Kansas City.  So, about two weeks from now my roommate and I will be driving 10 hours to Kansas City to pick up a kitten.  Yes, I am aware that we have kittens in Texas.  But, I am insane as previously mentioned.  I will be calling her Mo.

Reunion

Posted on 07.15.2007. at 9:32 PM
Had my 10 year high school reunion last night.  It was surprisingly decent. Met up with a few old friends so that was nice.  Made fun of the slutty bitches that we hated in high school.  And the best part.... the drag queen.  I love drag queens.  Everyone knew he was gay in highschool, but I wasn't expecting him to show up at the reunion and put on a drag show for us.  It was awesome.  Hopefully I'll have pics soon.

Travels

I've really been wanting to go on a cool vacation lately, so I'm thinking about taking a trip to Costa Rica.  I thought I might take one of those classes where you learn Spanish for part of the day and explore the rest of the time.  Some of the optional trips like canopy tours and horseback riding in the mountains sound like fun.  Now I just have to find someone to go with me.  Damn friends getting married and having babies.

Sometimes I think it would be cool if we all had our own soundtracks.

Well, now I'm going to Durham for a week of mass spectrometry screening training instead of a Washington, DC newborn screening meeting.  It'll be just like being in school again...lectures on various diseases from 8-5 all week.  Not that that's necessarily a problem... I like learning, but it does mean an extended period of time without internet access.

Right

Well, I can see out of my right eye now.  They implanted a collamer lens into my right eye this morning.  The left eye will be done next Monday.  I can see pretty well but my blind left eye is causing a little interference.  Hopefully I'll be able to wear a contact on that eye until next Monday.

Eyeballs

Anyone ever had a rubberband snapped on their eyeball before?  No?  Well, I can tell you that a periphiridotomy is probably the next best thing. Just had it done today in preperation for my lens implant surgery next week.  Ouch.  And on top of that it gives you a headache and blurred vision.  I can barely see what I'm typing and I'm supposed to be working right now.  Joy.

I'm almost all settled in in my new house now.  I love it.  I've had it painted inside and out and gotten some new furniture.  I'll take some more pictures once I'm all finished.  My new job is going okay so far as well.  I'm having to learn a lot now in the beginning, but it sounds like it is going to be interesting.  I'll even get to do some travelling to some meetings, 2 in April and 1 in May.

House

Posted on 02.11.2007. at 9:21 PM
Well, I bought a house in Austin this weekend.  I'll be moving there in March.  My first house.  It's a little odd, but I got a good deal.  The interior is all newly redone and it's in a good location, so the value is going to increase for sure.

Looks like I'm moving to Austin in about 1 month.  I have a job offer there and I'm heading up there this weekend to look for a house.  Exciting.
